World’s heaviest child once weighed 190 kgs

A 12-year-old boy, named Arya Permana, was once deemed the world’s fattest child.
The boy from West Java, Indonesia, weighed about 30 stone (190.5 kg), at the age of 10, so heavy that he couldn’t walk or play with his friends.

After following a strict diet and fitness regime, Permana has finally been able to shed about 12 stone (76.2 kg). Now, he walks to school, plays football and badminton, and also runs for two kilometers each day, reported The Sun.

Permana’s parents, Rokayah Somantri and Ade Somantri are reportedly delighted to see their son leading a normal life.

Last year, Permana had also undergone a surgery, which made him lose almost three stone (19 kg). The surgery, however, led to dietary disorders.

“He cannot eat a lot after the surgery. He can only eat four tablespoons of rice and drinks diet milk. If he eats extra, he throws up,” revealed Ade Somantri.

Earlier, Permana would eat five times a day, with his meal comprising rice, fish curry, beef, vegetable soup and Tempeh, a traditional soy patty.

Now, the boy’s diet is devoid of sugar and carbs.

“We are very happy to see him leading a healthy life. He is very active and in good health,” added Rokayah Somantri.
